Request for Abstracts

The Glenda Garvey Teaching Academy is requesting abstracts for the Showcase for Educational Scholarship which will be a poster presentation   session. This will be a central component of the first annual Educational Day to be held on April 1, 2008.

All members of the Columbia University Medical Center community are eligible to submit an abstract online.

The topic for an abstract should be one of the following:
 - Educational research
 - Curriculum development
 - Educational administration and leadership
 - Teaching/Mentoring/Advising
    

The body of the abstract should not exceed 350 words, not including up to five references.

It should include the following four sections: background, methods, results and conclusions.

The abstracts will be assessed for significance, appropriateness of methods, relevance of outcome and clarity of expression. They will be peer reviewed and all those abstracts meeting the criteria will be accepted.

The project leader of accepted abstracts will receive a grant of $200 to assist in production of the poster.

Faculty of the Center for Educational Research and Evaluation are available for consultation on development of the abstract and poster.

Time line:
Submission of abstracts:    January 15, 2008
Notice of acceptance:         February 1, 2008
Poster presentation:           April 1, 2008
